Few families would consider leaving home for a vacation nowadays without reliable, high-quality digital imaging equipment-whether it is a camera or a MPEG recorder. These are some digital photography tips from the gurus at Canon to help make the maximum of remarkable holiday moments.

The video recorder records direct to DVD, is compact and takes high-resolution, 4-Megapixel digital photographs. Strike a pose-No! : Candid shots of members of the family can capture their personalities better than conscientiously orchestrated footage.

I don’t get very well the concept here, so I believe people may disagree with it.
Now, here is a tip when using flash indoors. If you use a moderately slow shutter speed — 1/30 to 1/60 of a second , rather than 1/100 or 1/125 (or higher) the background of your image will be brighter as well, and will better match the lighting from the flash on your subject positioned closer to the camera. Otherwise, if the shutter speed is too fast, the flash will light up the close subject and fall off within 10-15 or so (depending on the flash) and the background will be much darker by comparison.
