CellPhone Reviews:Palm Pre

Welcome back! It is nice to see you back again.

palm pre 300x189 CellPhone Reviews:Palm Pre

The Palm Pre’s multitasking capacities and notifications system are unique. The smartphone features a colourful display with multitouch functionality as well as a solid browser and good multimedia integration.

The Pre offered good call quality and wireless options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The Pre’s keyboard is cramped. Battery life drains quickly and the smartphone can be slow at times. Lacks growth slot, video-recording capacities, onscreen keyboard, and Flash support. The Pre App Catalogue is still in beta with a controlled number of titles. The miniscule full keyboard isn’t going to draw any praise, neither is the absence of a growth slot.

We are also disappointed the Pre lacks some standard functions, like video recording and voice dialing, though Palm has expounded these features can be added later through an over-the-air update.

Battery life is also a concern, as the smartphone only lasted around a day on a single charge, which, to be fair, is about the same as the iPhone. All having said that, the Pre’s “Deck of Cards” multitasking functionality and notification system are what make it special and they are areas where the Pre beats the iPhone or any smartphone on the market at this time. In addition, personal-information management is totally modified ( in a good way ) with the Synergy feature.

While the Pre ultimately gives Run purchasers a thing to be pumped up about, it will not please everybody. Early adopters, gadget lovers, and buyers who want or crave more functionality from their cell telephone will be well-served by the Pre, though there’s a small bit of a learning curve to the device. Also, due to the battery life and that slight bit of sluggishness, we’d don’t think it is the best device for business users or road soldiers.

In spite of some missing features and performance issues that make it less than perfect for on-the-go pros, the Palm Pre offers gadget lovers and customers well-integrated features and unparalled multitasking capacities. The hardware may be better, but as importantly, Palm has developed a solid OS that not only rivals the contest but also sets a new standard in the way smartphones handle jobs and manage info.
